Jordan Feeney '23 Attends Prestigious Program at GMU

Jordan Feeney '23 has professed her passion for forensic science since she was about 11 years old. So, when she was presented with the opportunity to spend 10 days in Virginia with George Mason University (GMU) to study Law & CSI this past summer, she jumped at the chance.

Through hands-on evidence analysis and courtroom and forensic simulations, Jordan was able to cover the entire judicial process in-depth; attending interactive panels with university professors (GMU & George Washington University) and forensic scientists, discussing the latest high-tech applications used during criminal investigations and hearing from leaders in their fields like John Douglas, Former Special Agent and Unit Chief U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigations and Dr. Jason Kolowski, Forensic Science Lab DC, Department of Forensic Science. Jordan worked from 8 am to 10 pm each day soaking up everything the university program and the DC area had to offer - engaging with like-minded high school students from across the US as well as India, China and New Zealand. She experienced a college atmosphere, rigorous schedule, Washington DC and the Georgetown area, incredible exposure in her desired field and a confirmation in pursuing her passion.

“I have felt the pull to this work for a long time now and being given the chance to experience this to the degree I was at the close of my sophomore year was incredible. I know without a doubt this is the field for me. I am so grateful that I had this opportunity," said Jordan.
