A Cherished Tradition: Tree Lighting Liturgy

The Christmas Tree on the altar of Immaculate Conception Chapel was blessed by Bishop Emeritus Paul Bootkoski of the Diocese of Metuchen on the afternoon of December 8 during a Mass celebrating the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. Members of the Mount's Class of 2022 hung their multicolored paper origami star ornaments, which were crafted by members of the National Art Honor Society and senior art students, after processing in.

 

After the class candles were lit by Sydney Kress '22, Dena Mistichelli '23, Theresa Morrison '24, and Sarah Hobbie '25, a Reflection was offered by Diana Neste '22. Caitlin Cotter '22 and Katherine Kenny '22 presented flowers to the Blessed Mother.
