The academic/extracurricular accomplishments of our students as well as the professional and volunteer efforts of our Mount community were lauded and recognized on the evening of Monday, May 18, in the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception during our 42nd Annual Academy Awards Night.
Sister Lisa D. Gambacorto, RSM, Ed.S., Directress, said, "Our program tonight recognizes the talents and contributions of our students, faculty and staff, and by our parent organizations. Tonight, we reflect on the values we stand for as a community – the collective belief in the value of academic achievement and the importance of hard work.”
“When we think about Academy Awards Night, it is easy to think about success. But I think it goes deeper. It’s not about perfection or being the smartest, or having everything figured out. It is about the consistent decision each of you made to persevere and find meaning and purpose in your work – whether it is academic, artistic, or service.”
Sister Lisa added, “A night like tonight does not just happen because you want it to happen. It happens because you make it happen. On behalf of the Mount Saint Mary Academy Board of Trustees, the Sisters of Mercy, the Administration, the faculty, the staff, and students, we congratulate you as well as your family and friends on the honor you will receive tonight.”
