Junior High School Forensics Competition 2026

Michelle H. Daino
While celebrating the theme of "Wicked" based off the popular movie, middle school students from local schools were excited to vie for trophies during this year's Junior High Forensics Competition on March 11th. The three-hour event was organized by Nicole Doria '18, Italian Teacher.

Students from Ridgedale Middle School, Warren Middle School, St. Michael's School, The Academy of Our Lady of Peace, St. Francis Academy, and Assumption School competed in the categories of Oral Interpretation of Literature (Grades 5-6), Oral Interpretation of Literature (Grades 7-8), Declamation (Grades 5-8) and Duo Interpretation of Literature (Grades 7-8).

Ms. Doria said the competition's theme was "inspired by the spirit of fun, theatricality, and female empowerment associated with the musical. The theme reflected primarily in the decorations and overall atmosphere of the event, helping to create an energetic and welcoming environment for the students. While the performances were not required to relate to the theme, the setting added a festive and engaging backdrop to the competition."
