Mount Dance Club Scores Big at Competition

Michelle H. Daino
On Saturday, April 24, the Mount Dance Club took part in the That’s Entertainment Performing Arts Competition in Whippany. Their two amazing performances earned them a huge trophy for the OVERALL HIGH SCORE.

The lyrical number, choreographed by Ainsley Klein ’21 and Marisa Mazzuca ’21, won best overall scores in the Rising Star category. The jazz arrangement, also choreographed by Ainsley and Marisa, received a judge’s award for “Fiercest Number.”  Both of the Club’s performances received a Gold Award, and the lyrical earned an invitation to the National Competition to be held in Atlantic City in July. There were many complimentary reviews on the Mount dancer’s “perfect use of the crown, intense focus from the first note and their demanding attention by their performance and focus.”

Successfully representing the Mount were club members Ainsley, Marisa, Tara Schilke ’21, Kayla DeAngelis ’21, Aryana Perez ’21, Mary Perez ’21, Arianna Salerno ’23, Dena Mistichelli ’23, Kelsie Neidenbach ’23, Marina DeNezza ’23, Kailey Fahy ’23, Kathleen Altobelli ’24, Emma Szabo ’24, Victoria Fekete ’24 and Nina Heim ’24
