The late August edition of the Teen Gazette features a dynamic digital piece of artwork created by Natalia Rogers '28, which inspires an appreciation for animals and their relationship with their owners and caregivers. Natalia is among 100 honored published artists out of 1,000 applicants.

“I have been involved in creating art since I was really young and I found out about the Teen Gazette opportunity as it is advertised widely online,” said Natalia, who used the ibis Paint application to create the vibrant and poignant piece, “She and Her Steed.” Click here to view the artwork.

Natalia, who uses digital and traditional techniques to achieve her artwork, noted, “I have a love for animals, and I wanted to capture that relationship specifically. I hope that it resonates with people because that relationship is not really understood and is sometimes taken for granted. Animals are really intelligent beings and smarter than we realize. The bonds they can share with people and the help they can provide, especially mentally, are something to be cherished.”

Natalia has set her sights on entering the Scholastic Art Competition and would submit another digital piece for the contest. In the meantime, she envisions enjoying art as a hobby but would like to find a career where she can express her creativity such as civil engineering or architecture.
