Congratulations to the Mount Saint Mary Academy Class of 2025! Commencement Exercises were held on May 31 in the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception where diplomas were conferred to the 74 seniors and special awards were distributed.
In her Valedictorian speech, Madison DeFrancisco '25 said, "While who we are now and the decisions we made in high school certainly do not define the rest of our lives, our time and experiences here do have value. They have provided us a foundation, a sense of self and system of support that we can build off of and fall back on when needed." She later added, "Going to college will not be the first or the last time we will have to establish ourselves in a new environment. Doing so can be scary, and we might feel lost without the people and things that feel familiar to us. But do not be afraid of being lost, for, as in the words of Henry David Thoreau, 'Not until we are lost do we begin to understand ourselves.'" To read Madison's speech in its entirety, click here.
Megan Quraishi '25 added, in her Salutatorian speech: "Today, we witness something special: a single moment where all our paths cross one more time before they begin to diverge. And I would like to begin by saying that I am so grateful for this community and so proud of all that we have accomplished together." She later added, "Today might feel like an ending, but it's actually a beginning in disguise. And I hope, truly, that we carry with us the grace that lets us fail without shame, grow without fear, and embrace the unexpected." To read Megan's speech in its entirety, click here.
