Class of 2025 Inducted into Alumnae Association

The Induction of the Class of 2025 into the Mount Saint Mary Academy Alumnae Association took place on the afternoon of Wednesday, May 28, in the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception.
 
In her welcoming remarks, JoAnn Rojek Minnicino '74, P'11 (Alumnae Association President/Mercy Associate) invited the seniors to appreciate the journey they have completed.
 
"I hope your experiences have brought you closer as a class. You will always be Mount sisters," she said, reminding them that the bond lasts a lifetime. "The Mount will always be here to support you," she added. "May you always know that we love you and cherish each and every one of you. May God bless you and keep you."
 
S. Alice Swartz, RSM, '61 offered an Opening Prayer before the Mercy Education Profile of the Graduate was read by Kathryn O'Donnell Luppino '85, P'12. Educational Courage was highlighted by Maria Mauti Sblendorio '89 and Marion A. Sblendorio '25, Spirituality was spotlighted by Maureen Corrigan Jorgensen '79, Martha Corrigan Giglio '81, Patricia Corrigan Johnston '84 and Elizabeth Corrigan '25, Principled Leadership was noted by Rebeca DeFrancisco and Madison DeFrancisco '25 (Valedictorian), and A Voice for Dignity & Respect was read by Kathy Carpenter and Megan Quraishi '25 (Salutatorian). 
 
After the Recitation of the Alumnae Pledge by Erika Parisse Demetrick '89, P'22 (Former Board of Trustees member), Jessica Porcetta Bodjalo '92 read the Recognition of Class Agent for the Class of 2025. A special gift was presented to each senior by Susan Di Iorio, Alumnae Program Coordinator. Additionally, gifts were given by Sister Lisa D. Gambacorto, RSM, Ed.S. (Directress and Honorary Alumna), Jacqueline Conti Muratore '01 (Assistant Directress of Faculty, Curriculum, and Planning/Mercy Associate), Donna Venezia Toryak '68 (Director of Enrollment Management), and Mrs. Minnicino. Class Agents, Jessica Curran '25 and Zoe Hunter '25, were also recognized and the alma mater was sung with true Mount spirit!
 
Denise Materia, Assistant Directress for Student Life and Athletic Director, received an honorary diploma and was named an honorary graduate upon her retirement after serving the Mount for 41 years.
 
During a lovely reception in the Sister Lisa Gambacorto Theater, Susan Di Iorio, Alumnae Program Coordinator, shared a special slideshow presentation with the seniors and their mothers and Jacqueline Compton D'Alessio '60 (Archivist) read a message to the group.
