Gabrielle Cialdella '26 is looking forward to exploring her passion for art during the MICA (Maryland Institute College of Art) Pre-College Summer Program from July 13 to 26.

Gabrielle was chosen to attend the program which combines studio classes, workshops and artist discussions. To apply, she shared a portfolio of four of her pieces of artwork. With the opportunity to earn college credits while learning from MICA faculty, Gabrielle will also discover local museums and events tailored to her interests. On the last day of classes, there will be a final ceremony and exhibition to celebrate each of the students’ accomplishments. Gabrielle will receive a certificate of completion.

“I am excited for the opportunity to experience college life through hands-on technical classes, staying in the dorms on campus, and connecting with students who share similar interests,” said Gabrielle. “I hope to work on refining my current artistic skills, as well as exploring new techniques and creating art with a variety of media. I also want to draw inspiration from my peers and professors and build community among students with diverse art styles and backgrounds.”

“I see this program as a chance to explore new perspectives of the world and learn to find art through everything I see and do,” she added.

Danielle Linz, Art Teacher, shared, “Gabby is a creative young artist who creates unique and captivating artwork. Her work makes you want to stop and try to find a deeper meaning. Often featuring eyeballs, Gabby’s work features colorful and dynamic compositions, technical skill, and meticulous detail work. Her passion for art is evident and I am so excited for her to begin this new artistic journey in the upcoming summer!”
