2025 College Recognition, Book Awards Presented

On Thursday, May 22, 11 Mount juniors received special college recognition and book awards. Congratulations to: 
  • Chatham University - Rachel Carson Healthy Planet Book Award:  Sophia Alvarez '26: Student that has promise in the study of science and deeply concerned about the environment.
  • Clarkson University High School Achievement Award: Meghan Dwyer '26: Academic promise and interest in Engineering, Business, Science, Liberal Arts or Healthcare.
  • Clarkson University High School Leadership Award: Isabella Law '26:  Outstanding leadership qualities and academic promise/interest in Engineering, Business, Science Liberal Arts or Healthcare.
  • Rensselaer Medalist Award: Gemma LoGrippo '26Awarded to junior who has distinguished themselves in math and science.
  • Saint Anselm College: Sarah Algier '26:  Student who demonstrates academic excellence, exceptional leadership qualities in civic engagement, aspirations for continued education. Book: Half Truths: What’s Right (and What’s Wrong) with Cliches You and I live By: Professor Montague Brown ( Philosophy Department).
  • Saint Michael’s Book Award: Aashrita Banerjee '26: Academic achievement and social conscience/service in and out school. 
  • Stonehill College: Katherine Mera '26: Recognizes an outstanding junior who has not only excelled in the classroom, but who has also made positive contributions to his or her school and community. Book award: Insight: The Surprising Truth About How Others See us by Tasha Eurich.
  • University of Saint Joseph: Isla Bernens '26: Student who exemplifies the Core Value of the University – including academic excellence, leadership, and commitment to serve.
  • University of Vermont – Citizen Scholar Award: Ava Bonczek '26: student exemplifies what it means to be an active citizen and for their demonstrated commitment to having a positive impact on their communities.
  • Worchester Polytechnic Institute Innovation Award – Mackenzie Daly '26recognition of their outstanding accomplishments in STEM coursework, and their commitment to WPI’s core values of curiosity, collaboration and leadership.
  • Wilkes Colonel Emerging Leader Award – Angelique Lynch '26 in recognition of outstanding achievement in academics and extracurriculars as well as aptitude in leadership and service.
     
    Some awards have potential scholarship monies tied to the award if the student ends up applying and then enrolling in the institution. Each school provides that information in a separate communication to the student.
