Senior Retreat: A Day of Fellowship & Friendship

Michelle H. Daino
The Shrine of Saint Joseph in Stirling was the perfect backdrop for seniors to bond spiritually before they prepare to embark on their college journeys in June. Led by members of the Department of Theology and Peer Ministers, the day began with prayer in Immaculate Conception Chapel before students boarded the bus to the shrine. Peer Ministers shared reflections about how they have grown and deepened their faith since their first days at the Mount. They also discussed the importance of forgiveness, self-acceptance, and staying present and close to God. Special activities included meditative watercolors, writing in reflection journals, and making beaded bracelets for their prayer buddies. Before a pizza lunch, the seniors took a keepsake photo outside and celebrated Mass with Monsignor William Benwell.
