On the eve of their graduation, members of the senior class and their parents gathered in the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception for a Baccalaureate Mass which was led by Reverend Monsignor William Benwell. Senior Class President, Isabella DeLuca '26, offered welcome remarks.
Isabella thanked all of those who contributed to the success of the graduating class and emphasized that the incredible values that they learned at the Mount will guide them into the future and have shaped them into who they are today.
During the Mass, a special reflection was offered by Vicki Bixel '95, a member of the Mount Saint Mary Academy Board of Trustees. She reflected on the character of her graduating class, the importance of the sisterhood that is formed in every corner of the Mount campus over the course of four years, and the Mercy Core Values that are at the heart of what the Mount represents.
White roses were presented at the statues of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Joseph in memory of the deceased members of the community. The seniors sang a song to Sister Lisa D. Gambacorto, RSM, Ed.S., Directress, before the conclusion of the Liturgy. Ms. Bixel, Mrs. Muratore, Mrs. Maldonado, and Monsignor Benwell were also presented with special gifts of gratitude for their service throughout the year and commitment to the Academy.
