Sabrina Cialdella '27 Selected to Attend Pre-College Program at UMass Amherst

Congratulations to Sabrina Cialdella '27 who has been awarded a scholarship to attend the University of Massachusetts Amherst’s Pre-College Program at the Sports Management and Leadership Academy this summer. Sabrina will attend the in-person program from July 12 to July 25.

"I am so grateful for this opportunity to get a glimpse of college life while also being able to learn more about what goes behind the scenes in professional sports,” said Sabrina. “This has always been a key part of my life and I am so excited to be able to learn more about it at one of the highest ranked programs in the country."

The Sports Management & Leadership Academy, which is hosted by the Mark H. McCormack Department of Sports Management, will provide a platform for Sabrina to learn practical sports business applications and industry insights from the university’s world-renowned faculty and industry-leading alumni.

Sabrina will get a sneak peek into a variety of important industry segments and access to faculty members. The program explores subjects such as event management, college athletics, sport marketing, sport agency, sport law, sport economics, sport analytics, sport and digital media, and sport sponsorship. Career opportunities in the field of sport management will be also discussed.

Students will give multiple presentations on sports management topics to the class and receive 10 days of immersive content from full-time faculty. Sabrina will also have the opportunity to attend field trips to 2 to 3 local sports area landmarks such as the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, the UMass Amherst Mullins Center, and the Hartford Yard Goats Stadium.

At Mount Saint Mary Academy, Sabrina is the co-founder of NASA HUNCH Culinary Team and served as Head Chef for the national competition in Houston, Texas. She is co-president of Operation Smile, a member of Chemistry Club, SOCA (Students of Color Affinity), and TV Studio Club. She was recently named co-leader of the school’s Peer Ministry club. She is a member of the National Honor Society and a Mercy Scholar. Sabrina is a member of the Swim team at Mount and Club Swim, and serves as Team Captain for the Mount’s Flag Football team. During her freshmen and sophomore years, she participated in the Volleyball team.
