The culmination of our Freshmen Mercy Scholars' participation in the Mercy in Action Honors Seminar during their second semester took place on Tuesday, May 19, during a special Symposium in the Kennedy Library Media Center.
While learning introductory research skills, the Scholars are challenged to investigate a topic that relates to this current Mercy Girl Effect Challenge and the Sisters of Mercy Critical Concerns. This year, their class theme was "lives and challenges faced by Native Americans."
Members of the Administration, faculty and staff were invited to interact with the students about their research during the Symposium. Throughout the week, the Scholars' research posters were displayed in the Library.
