Lila Keller '25 was recently awarded the Angela Intili-Stokes Music Scholarship in the amount of $1,500 to foster her passion for music, her faith, and the arts.

Established in 2023, the scholarship honors Angela Intili-Stokes, a revered musician and cantor at St. Teresa of Avila Parish in Summit. Lila is a parishioner of the church and a Summit resident. Ms. Intili-Stokes dedicated decades of service to faith and the arts. The scholarship supports young artists who are committed to pursuing journeys in both faith and music.

“I’m honored to be awarded this scholarship,” said Lila. “Music has always been a big part of my life; from the time I was little being taught by Ms. Intili-Stokes in the children’s choir to my current participation in Instrumental Ensemble and Handbell Choir at Mount Saint Mary Academy.”

“I’m so grateful for this opportunity continue her legacy, passion, and dedication for music,” she added.

“My scholarship was for my dedication to band, which has included flute, handbells, and percussion,” added Lila. “I have been playing the flute in band almost every day of school since fourth grade. I stuck with it because I enjoyed playing in an ensemble and contributing to a greater work of art. The scholarship funds will go towards my tuition next year, supporting another year of my participation in the instrumental ensemble.”
