Buddies on the Hill Hosts Prom

Buddies on the Hill, a Mount club started by Kathleen Altobelli ’24Emma Szabo ’24, and moderated by Julia Pierce (Enrollment Management Associate, Student Council Moderator), held its prom on Tuesday evening at St. Joseph's High School in Metuchen. Buddies on the Hill teamed up with Falcons & Friends a club at St. Joe’s last year, an organization created to include individuals with special needs into our community. These past two years have been so rewarding and a success for the program!

Emma and Kathleen chose the theme “A night with the stars” and the rest of the planning took off from there. The event included a photobooth, themed decorations, a student-run DJ, dancing, and dinner for all guests. The prom provided an opportunity for individuals with special needs to have a fun and memorable experience in a safe and supportive environment.

“Our second annual Falcon and Friends/Buddies on the Hill prom was extremely successful. As our club grows, we celebrate with many new faces. It meant a great deal to see and hear the friends enjoy their time with us. We put in a lot of effort into organizing and setting up the event, and it's heartwarming to know that our hard work did not go unnoticed. Our goal was to make others happy, and it's fulfilling to see that we were able to achieve it.” said Kathleen Altobelli ’24.

Emma Szabo ’24 stated, "This year's Falcons and Friends/Buddies on the Hill prom was filled with smiles, laughter, and killer dance moves. It was incredible to see old and new faces at our event. We received an overwhelming amount of gratitude from parents thanking us for giving their kids a Prom Experience! I am so happy to know how much these events are enjoyed and how each event gets more and more people involved!" We are looking forward to our last few events of the school year, and for many more to come in the school years ahead!
