Ruth Anne Munroe Reflects on Seven Blessed Years at the Mount

Anyone who has crossed paths with Ruth Anne Munroe during her seven years at Mount Saint Mary Academy knows that she has worn many hats while impacting countless lives along the way.

 

“I started in 2016 as a Theology teacher. I taught Scripture and Morality to sophomores for four years, Church History to seniors for one year, and Catholic Social Teaching to seniors for three years,” she said. “In 2020, I transitioned from teaching to Associate Director of Campus Ministry and Student Council Moderator. Lastly, in 2021, I became the Director of Campus Ministry and continued as Student Council Moderator.”

 

Mrs. Munroe reflected, “I feel I have made the most impact at the Mount through my planning of the various prayer services, liturgies, and student activities that are celebrated throughout the year. I am detail oriented and committed to my work. I try to model a positive, upbeat attitude, treat others with respect, and take time to understand the perspective of coworkers and students.” 

 

Mount’s annual Service Day has been a particular tradition of value for Mrs. Munroe as faculty, staff, and students come together in service-learning activities to address human and community needs.

 

“I hope to be remembered as someone who brought to each day a little bit of happiness and joy for my coworkers and the Mount students,” she shared when reflecting on her legacy at the Academy. “I also hope to be remembered as someone who tried to live each day with integrity, compassion, perseverance, and justice.

 

“In the words of Mother Teresa – ‘In this life we cannot do great things. We can only do small things with great love,’” she said.
