As they continue the start of their Mount journey, freshmen found inspiration during a Freshmen Welcome visit from Patty Corrigan Johnston '84 this morning in the Student Center. A successful businesswoman, and the sister of Maureen Corrigan '79, aunt of Elizabeth Corrigan '25, and sister-in-law of Martha Giglio '81, Ms. Corrigan Johnston shared refreshing insight about the meaning of Mount sisterhood.

The event began with comments from JoAnn Rojek Minnicino '74 (Alumnae Association President): "We are sisters no matter what our age is...we are always here for one another. I wish all of you a wonderful experience. Take advantage of all the Mount has to offer and don't be afraid to try new things." She also reviewed with the freshmen many of the events that are hosted by the Alumnae Association including Career Day. And, she emphasized the importance of staying connected and supporting each other long after graduation.

After asking the freshmen how they were settling in and adjusting to life at the Academy, Ms. Corrigan Johnston remembered the "spirit, energy, and electricity" she felt when she first visited the Mount and how proud she is to be involved ever since.

"The Mount echoes in our hearts. We are a small and mighty sisterhood," she added. "The education, support, and sisterhood at the Mount is the foundation for achieving your dreams and goals. You are the best and the brightest. If you can dream it, you can achieve it -- but never forget that it all started here."
