Mercy Week Liturgy Concludes Weeklong Celebration

Members of the Mount community focused on one Mercy Core Value and one of the Sisters of Mercy Critical Concerns each day. Students added specific colors of hair accessories/socks to celebrate. 
 
MONDAY (BLUE) - Compelled by Mercy - Nonviolence
  • Students made chalk drawings featuring positive messages outside of the St. Joe's Building. They also added messages to the Pray for Peace bulletin board regarding nonviolence.
TUESDAY (ORANGE) - Educational Courage - Immigration
  • The Peer Ministry Leadership Team hosted a book exchange and crafted flags from the students' different heritages at lunch.
WEDNESDAY (PURPLE) - Principled Leadership - Racism
  • Students were encouraged to reach out to administration, coaches, teachers and classmates with a note of email of appreciation. After school, the Peer Ministry team led a prayer for the end of racism and students made friendship bracelets.
THURSDAY (GREEN) Inspired by Faith - Earth
  • At the end of the day, students prayed for the Earth and to participated in a watercolor meditation.
FRIDAY (RED) - Mercy Day / A Voice for Dignity & Respect - Women 
  • Prior to our Mercy Day Liturgy, our school leaders and various student accomplishments were recognized. The Senior White Gown class photo was also taken on the Chapel steps. Our Liturgy was celebrated by Most Reverend Paul Gregory Bootkoski of the Diocese of Metuchen.
