Sophia '23 and Isabella Latini '23 Participate in Orthodontics Internship

This summer, Sophia '23 and Isabella Latini '23 participated in an internship at Loew and Patel Orthodontics based in Flemington, NJ.

“The internship program provided us the opportunity to observe, support and assist in so many aspects of orthodontic care,” said Isabella. “We shadowed the doctors, took report to update patient records, prepared examination areas for appointments, sterilized patient stations and instruments and even worked in the on-site lab creating molds for orthodontic treatment.”

Sophia added, “I really enjoyed the hands-on aspect of the internship. Through it, I gained valuable perspective on the necessity of human connection in patient care. I am so grateful to Drs. Loew and Patel for this wonderful experience and for the trust they placed in us.”  

Sophia and Isabella are both involved in a variety of activities at the Mount and outside of school.  They are Co-Presidents of the Latin Club, Co-leaders of the Peer Ministry Club, members of the Peer Ministry Leadership Team, HOPE Club and Future Medical Leaders Club. They are also on the Mount swim team. Outside of school, Sophia swims competitively for GSCY Storm swimming and is part of their national team. She also volunteers for a Special Olympics swim program. Isabella is an accomplished pianist whose performances have been recognized and awarded on a national level.
