Coat Drive Thank You from HOPE Club, Peer Ministry

Michelle H. Daino
Thanks to your generous contributions of coats, scarves, gloves and hats, as well as toiletry items, we filled the car and more. Donna Sirianni, mother of Mount alums Catherine ’19 and Olivia ’11, came to bring the donations to Franciscan Charities in Newark. Mrs. Sirianni and some other volunteers planned to sort the toiletry items and clothing at her home so they would be ready to distribute by gender and size, etc., once they were delivered.

Last year, the Chairman of Franciscan Charities noted in his letter to us, “Your support helps us continue to respond to the basic needs of the homeless and working poor in the Newark area.” They operate a soup kitchen, food pantry, clothing ministry, children’s literacy program, job training program and holiday toy drive among other social services and expressed deep gratitude for our support. As always Mercy Core Values alive and in action at the MOUNT!

Please stay tuned for our news next week about the ANNUAL CEREAL SUPER BOWL! Thank you again . . .
