Catholic Schools Week Celebrated at the Mount

Michelle H. Daino
Throughout Catholic Schools Week, Mount Saint Mary Academy students, faculty and staff celebrated the value of a Catholic education, the importance of the Mercy Core Values, and the uniqueness of our community. During our Liturgy with Monsignor William Benwell of the Diocese of Metuchen, he encouraged us to focus on the importance of loving one another as God has called us to do. He told the students that they are receiving a complete education for life at the Mount.

In her Liturgy reflection, Caitlin Cotter '22, Student Council Executive Board member, said, "As Mount students, we are called to show mercy to others. As we celebrate Catholic Schools Week, I ask that you show mercy to other students, to the Mount faculty and staff, to your family members, and to people you may not know. Throughout this week, recall the message of these readings and focus on strengthening your faith and serving others through love. By expressing compassion towards others through acts of service, we are able to be living examples of God’s love."
