On Friday, September 27, the names of the AP Scholars at Mount Saint Mary Academy in Watchung were announced by Mrs. Jacqueline Muratore, Assistant Directress for Faculty, Curriculum, and Planning.

The College Board offers a number of Advanced Placement courses and exams for students, allowing them to engage in college level work and the possibility of earning college credit or course placement. In May and June of 2021, Mount Saint Mary Academy administered 402 AP Exams in 21 subjects to 156 students. Of the 2021 AP Exam administrations, over 80 percent of Mount Saint Mary Academy students achieved a score of 3 or higher (scores are out of 5).

The College Board has recognized 69 Mount Saint Mary Academy students as AP Scholars.

AP SCHOLARS – To qualify as an AP Scholar, a student must receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more exams. They are:

Emily Benewiat, Reagan DeMarco, Caitlin Kearney, Avery Longstreet, Reilly Melvin, Alexandra Mueller, Langley Murray, Megan Sandstedt, Laurel Valente, and Honor Winter

AP SCHOLARS WITH HONOR – To qualify as an AP Scholar with Honor, a student must receive an average score of at least 3.25 on all of their AP Exams, with scores of 3 or higher on 4 or more exams. They are:

Sidra Al-Ktaish, Angelika Demetrick, Katherine Kenny, Bridget Mooney, Riley Newall, and Kaelyn Twaskas

AP SCHOLARS WITH DISTINCTION – To qualify as an AP Scholar with Distinction, a student must earn an average score of 3.5 on all of their AP Exams and scores of 3 or higher on 5 or more of the exams. They are:

Margaret Ferris, Jerrine George, Mariella Hilyard, Claire King, Diana Neste, and Semrit Nijjar

Additionally, 47 graduates from the Class of 2021 earned the titles of AP Scholars, AP Scholars with Honors and AP Scholars with Distinction.
