Mount Saint Mary Opens for 113th Year

On Wednesday, September 8, Mount Saint Mary Academy ushered in its 113th academic year with a Clap In for freshmen and sophomores at the beginning of the day. Students also attended Convocation in Chapel as well as sessions on security and technology.

During her remarks to the students, faculty and staff, S. Lisa D. Gambacorto, RSM, Ed.S. (Directress), stated, "Life is a combination of both bliss and blisters, and you can't have one without the other. One thing is for certain - we will support one another as we discover our bliss and work through the blisters - together!"

S. Lisa added, "Because we are Mount students determined and inspired by 113 years of tradition, we are deeply conscious of being compassionate and serving the needs of others. We have educational courage to develop to our fullest potential, learning to think critically. Inspired by faith and Gospel values, we welcome all faiths and are strengthened by each other, grounded in Catholic identity in the Mercy tradition. We lead for and with each other using our unique gifts, prepared with an ethical and moral compass, putting our resources, and our values into action. We are the voice of dignity and respect for each other and our world. This is who we are. This is who we have always been. We are -- today and every day -- Mount Pack."
