Baccalaureate Mass Messages Inspired Seniors

Michelle H. Daino
During the evening prior to the graduation of the Class of 2021, Baccalaureate Mass was held in Immaculate Conception Chapel. S. Deirdre Mullan, RSM, M.A., Ph.D. was our guest speaker.

During her inspirational speech to the #mountclassof2021, S. Deirdre Mullan, RSM invited the students to use a “Mercy GPS” app that would help them in their future journeys — to you to pay attention to their friendships, not to take their relationships for granted, and to talk to one another outside of texting or social media. She urged them to always move forward and to use kindness and compassion as young women and as global citizens.

Bishop Paul Bootkoski of the Diocese of Metuchen, who celebrated the Mass that evening, encouraged the Mounties to develop their gifts and talents to share with the world, to be open to the newness of life and to change, and to be true to who they are. Bishop Paul said that, while the past year was a difficult one, they weathered the challenges successfully. He knows the girls have made lifelong friends during their four years at the Mount and he urged them to bring their faith into the world as they forge ahead after graduation.
