An enrichment program in fine and performing arts
for young women in grades 6, 7, & 8
ArtsAlive will feature three sessions, each lasting one hour and beginning at 9 am. Students may choose to participate in one, two, or all three sessions. The event will conclude at 12:30 pm with a concert featuring our music participants.
All classes are taught by MSMA teachers, who are passionate experts looking forward to meeting the next generation of writers, artists and musicians, and they are assisted by the Academy’s students.
Silhouettes at Sunset
Mrs. Donna Abrams and Ms. Duffy Dillinger, MSMA art teachers, will present “Silhouettes at Sunset,” during which participants will experience the serenity of painting silhouettes against a sunset sky. Photographs of the finished paintings will be displayed during the Academy’s annual art show through May 5. Their session will be held from 9 to 10 am.
Poetry Workshop - What Will Your Verse Be?
Members of the MSMA Poetry Club will join Ms. Danielle Lovallo, poet and English teacher, in presenting a poetry workshop from 10:15 to 11:15 am. This is an opportunity for young women to gather and share their voices in a supportive and encouraging environment. Students will have the chance to be creative, write, make new friends and share their work.
Chorale/Symphonic Band with Strings
Participants will have the unique opportunity to work with the MSMA band and choral directors, preparing two or three pieces of music followed by a performance in the Academy’s Immaculate Conception Chapel. All levels of musicians are welcome. Parents must indicate if a student would like to participate in the vocal or instrumental workshops and specify their musical instruments, if applicable. The chorale/instrumental session will be held from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.
There is no cost for the ArtsAlive program, however registration is required. Please complete the form below to register for ArtsAlive.
