Olivia Encarnacion '23 Receives Special NMSC Scholarship

Olivia Encarnacion '23 has been selected as a winner of the Colgate-Palmolive Company Scholarship, a National Merit Scholarship Corporation Special Scholarship.

 

“I’m very excited and blessed to be receiving this scholarship,” stated Olivia. “The scholarship recognizes my academic and leadership accomplishments throughout high school years. I have worked diligently and passionately in my academics, extracurriculars, and community efforts.”

 

She added, “While I am unsure exactly what I want to study in college this scholarship will provide me further freedom to explore. As I enter Duke University in a few short months, I am very excited to continue discovering my passions and making a difference in my communities.”

 

Special Scholarships are underwritten by many of the business organizations that also provide Merit Scholarship® awards for students who qualify as Finalists in the National Merit® Scholarship Program. These corporate sponsors wish to offer a fixed number of awards each year for students who meet their specified criteria—usually children of employees or residents of communities where the company has facilities. Winners of Special Scholarships are chosen based on their academic accomplishments from a pool of candidates who fulfilled the sponsor's criteria and scored high on the 2021 PSAT/NMSQT®.
