The family atmosphere of Mount Saint Mary Academy was evident on the morning of September 1st as faculty and staff gathered for Opening Day meeting. After exchanging warm greetings and learning from administration about plans for the 2021-2022 school year, everyone enjoyed a delicious lunch and a special treat from S. Lisa D. Gambacorto, RSM, Ed.S. (Directress) -- a Kona Ice Truck serving sweet treats outside of the St. Joe's Building.
In her remarks, S. Lisa encouraged faculty/staff: "We must continue doing what we do best which is to develop young women who understand they are part of a global world that is crying for empathy and compassion. Our mission is clear: to teach our students to have educational courage; to help them pursue excellence and critical thinking; to inspire them to become living models of faith and advocates of Gospel values grounded in Catholic identity in the Mercy tradition; to prepare them to put Mercy values into action while showing them how to be emotionally intelligent."
