Office of Student Services

The Office of Student Services at Mount Saint Mary Academy is comprised of a team of school counselors who encourage the successful academic growth of each student based upon their individual needs. Our counselors are assigned a small group of students and have the privilege of guiding those students through their years at the Mount. This unique style allows each student to receive personalized attention and instruction that fits her individual needs and talents.

Students are guided through the dynamics of a college preparatory environment beginning in their freshman year. Freshman and sophomore seminars offer students tips on study skills, time management, standardized testing prep, resume building, and college and career planning. Counselors assist students in individual sessions as they select courses and consider their future academic and professional paths. As students move through their high school careers, each is assisted in the college search process and the application process. College skills classes and one-on-one consultations allow students to best assess their college choices and take the necessary steps to gain admission to their top choices as well as scholarships.

The Office of Student Services also believes strongly in keeping parents informed during this process. They hold regular meetings specifically for parents designed to inform them on the role of the office, the college search process, and financial aid opportunities.
