Peer Ministry
Spiritual Peer Leadership

The Peer Ministry program at Mount Saint Mary Academy is comprised of approximately 20-25 students from Sophomores – Seniors. The young women are selected through an application and interview process and are expected to attend two training retreats per year. This team is overseen by the Campus Minister who guides the girls in their various tasks as Peer Ministers.

Some of the many jobs of a Peer Minister are planning and executing class retreats, organizing and leading the school in daily prayer, presenting “Peer Ministry” days in each Religion class and for the Seniors, planning and presenting an annual Kairos retreat for upper-class women.

There is also a Music Ministry Team headed by Mr. Daniele Pieraccini. This group is responsible to lead the congregation in worship at various Liturgies throughout the year as well as some retreat experiences.

Other students may also be involved as Lectors and Altar Servers for Liturgies. These students help organize those positions at Mass and are not necessarily members of the PM team.

Service is also an important aspect of any ministry program. At the Mount students are encouraged to serve outside of the academic setting. They also are required to fulfill certain service requirements for graduation. A life-long love of service is the goal of this branch of ministry.
