College Counseling
Office of Student Services

Mount Saint Mary Academy is proud to state that our senior classes succeed in 100% college acceptance.  This single statistic does not define our program. Our primary objective is to find the right college that complements each student based upon their preferences.  Our program is designed to identify each student’s college predilection while attaining the best education possible.  We are results-oriented and still manage to embrace our students’ hopes and aspirations as they enter college life as young, resilient women.
Our school counselors are well-versed in the college selection process.  Their experiences include thirty years of participation in professional development with an emphasis on college issues.  With the knowledge accrued and their extensive amount of time in college counseling, our students and parents are made aware of the latest information available from college admission offices.  Each year, over 100 colleges visit the Academy; college personnel or representatives from the College Board and ACT are invited to address the Mount community.  In addition, we enlist subject matter experts to further educate our students and parents on complex issues such as financial aid.

With 100 years of experience and a demonstrated track record for success, Mount Saint Mary Academy College Counseling has reached new levels.  We have our finger on the pulse of the latest college trends, application strategies, and technological advances that are constantly changing.  Along with our hi-tech resources and individualized attention, we further recognize the need to retain professionals to speak on more complex issues such as financial aid or financial planning.  We enlist subject matter experts to further educate our students as well as our parents for the added personal touch that we are known for.  Our program is well-rounded because we work together and align our beliefs with our Mercy Core Values of treating everyone and everything with integrity and respect.
As graduation approaches each June, we feel confident of the good decisions our students have made in determining future plans that continue to enhance their lives.

Class of 2008: 100% accepted to four-year colleges or universities earning $7,526,895 in scholarships/grants.
