What sports does the Mount offer?

The Mount currently offers 12 Varsity sports. They include: Varsity Field Hockey, Varsity Soccer, Varsity Tennis, Varsity Cross Country, Varsity Volleyball, Varsity Basketball, Varsity Swimming, Varsity Cheerleading, Indoor Track, Outdoor Track, Varsity Lacrosse and Varsity Softball. Field Hockey, Volleyball, Cross Country, Soccer, Winter and Spring Track, Softball and Lacrosse have Junior Varsity programs as well. In Basketball, we also offer a 9th grade and Junior Varsity team.

Who do you play?

We play in the Skyland Conference and compete for the most part as a Raritan Division School.

What associations does the Mount belong to?

The Mount is a member of the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association as well as the New Jersey Independent Schools Athletic Association. This means that we compete in the N.J.S.I.A.A as a Parochial A school and in the N.J.I.S.A.A. as a division A school. In track we compete in the N.J.S.I.A.A. as a Parochial B school.

What tournaments does the school enter?

The Mount is eligible to compete in both the N.J.S.I.A.A. and the N.J.I.S.A.A. tournaments as well as the Somerset County Tournament.

Can Freshmen play Varsity?

Yes, the best players will be selected to the Varsity teams regardless of class. Freshmen are often selected and participate on the Varsity teams.

Do you have to tryout for the teams?

Yes, the teams are all competitive. The number of student athletes selected varies from sport to sport. Tryout dates are in accordance with the N.J.S.I.A.A. regulations.

When do the teams practice?

Most teams practice 6 days a week after school and on Saturdays. The swim team however practices in the morning before school.
