Uniforms

School sweatshirts and jackets sold in the Mount Saint Mary Academy school store or by Flynn and O’Hara may be worn with the uniform provided that they coordinate with the winter and spring/fall uniform and are in the colors of red, navy, or green. In order to keep uniformity, other colored Mount athletic jackets, rugby shirts, fleeces, or sweatshirts which identify the school may only be worn outside of school hours or on dress down days. No other sweater or sweatshirt will be allowed.

Winter Uniform

The winter uniform for all students consists of: the Flynn & O’Hara regulation plaid kilt (no shorter than 2 inches above the knee) or Flynn & O’Hara regulation pants in khaki or navy; regulation white-banded long-sleeved shirt or white oxford shirt; solid navy blue tights (to be worn with plaid kilt option); the regulation navy blue school sweater, navy blue school fleece, or navy blue Vineyard Vines vest. Solid, navy blue tights are required for the winter uniform when wearing the plaid kilt. Yoga pants, leggings, and sweatpants are not permitted.

Summer Uniform

Freshmen and Sophomores: The spring/fall uniform for freshmen and sophomores consists of: the regulation Flynn & O’Hara khaki skirt (no shorter than two inches above the knee) or regulation Flynn &

O’Hara pants in khaki or navy; regulation navy blue or white banded shirt; navy blue or white knee socks, white Mount crew socks, or navy blue tights; the regulation navy blue school sweater, navy blue school fleece, or navy blue Vineyard Vines vest sold in the school store.

Juniors and Seniors: The spring/fall uniform for juniors and seniors consists of: the regulation Flynn & O’Hara gray skirt (no shorter than two inches above the knee) or regulation Flynn & O’Hara pants in khaki or navy; regulation white banded shirt or white oxford shirt; solid navy blue or white knee socks, white Mount crew socks, or navy blue tights; the regulation navy blue school sweater, navy blue school fleece, or navy blue Vineyard Vines vest.

Shoes

A practical, low-heeled shoe in solid navy, brown, or black is to be worn. Shoes in multiple colors or featuring patterns may not be worn. Boots, sneakers, sandals, backless shoes, clogs, flip-flops, or slippers are not permitted. If for any reason a student is unable to wear the proper shoes, she must obtain a note from a doctor documenting the medical reason and bring it to the school nurse prior to homeroom. The nurse will provide a pass which is valid for one week and should be carried by the student to show that she has permission to be out of uniform.

White Gown

The white gown is an important part of Mount tradition and must be worn by every student on certain special occasions throughout the school year. The gown must be a white, formal, ankle-length dress. Students are also required to wear white shoes, white gloves, and tan or white stockings. All students must have their gowns by September 15.
