As early morning rain showers gave way to brighter, sunny skies, members of the Class of 2017 donned their white caps and gowns as family, friends, faculty and staff prepared to witness the seniors' graduation in Immaculate Conception Chapel on June 3.
Valedictorian Jacqueline McNulla '17 and Salutatorian Trisha Parayil '17 offered moving and motivational speeches prior to the presentation of the members of the Class of 2017 by Assistant Directress Karen L. Calta.
Diplomas were conferred by Sister Lisa D. Gambacorto, RSM, Ed.S., Directress / Elizabeth A. Weiler, Esq., Board of Trustees Chair / Michelle M. Walezak, Administrative Dean. Awards were distributed by Denise E. Materia, Assistant Directress and Director of Athletics.
Next, members of the faculty/staff offered a vocal tribute, "Find Your Wings," with music and lyrics by Mark Harris. The seniors performed a farewell song, "I'll Always Remember You" before singing the Alma Mater.
Mount Saint Mary Academy was honored to have the Most Reverend James F. Checchio, JCD, MBA, Bishop of Metuchen, offer the Benediction before the seniors and faculty/staff left Chapel at the conclusion of Commencement.
