Mrs. Teresa Sengel, World Language Department Chair, reported, "On Wednesday, February 15, famous Italian artists Botticelli, Raffaele, Caravaggio, Cimabue, Modigliani, Severino, Tiziano, and several others spoke about their famous Renaissance and Futuristic artworks. Only, these are Mount AP students who 'became' these artists in a simulated museum in their classroom.
Ms. Sofia Santos, Director of Student Services, reported that senior Laurel E. Doyle '17 has advanced to the Finalist standing in the National Merit Scholarship Program of 2017 by demonstrating through distinguished performance high potential for future academic accomplishment.
Thanks to the continued generosity of Mercy Guild members, over 100 canned goods were collected for the organization's "Souper Bowl" Food Drive.

On Saturday, February 4, approximately 60 young women from 25 different schools came to Mount Saint Mary Academy to create exciting projects led by teachers and students who are proficient in the STEAM movement.
A hearty congratulations to Shayna Hollander '18 who was named MVP for the NJSIAA Girls State Prep Championships on Wednesday, February 8. Shayna said, "It was an honor to be chosen as the MVP of the Prep Championships. I'm happy to see that my hard work is paying off, but I definitely couldn't have done it without the support and cheering from my teamates and coaches."
Mrs. Marion Senior, Spanish teacher and Forensics Team coach, reported, "After several weeks of rigorous practice and preliminary Meets, the Mount Saint Mary Forensics team competed in the Paterson League's Grand Tournament hosted by DePaul Catholic School in Wayne, NJ, on Saturday, January 28.
Congratulations to Gabriela Alba '17 who entered the Voice of Democracy (VOD) audio-essay program and won third in New Jersey. Honorable mention, Colleen Cirotti '18 placed third in the local competition.
